Corporate social responsibility is a vision of business accountability to a wide range of possibly stakeholders, besides shareholders and investors. Some areas of concern are the environments and it’s environmental protection plus also the wellbeing of employees, the community and civil society in general, both for right now and in the possible future.

The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility is coined that by the idea that corporations can no longer act as isolated economic units operating in detachment from broader society. Traditional views about competitiveness, survival and profitability are being swept away during much of the bad outcomes and many of the opposing ideas.

About three of the seven dimensions that drive reputation like citizenship, governance, and workplace, fall into the corporate social responsibility category and analysis shows that 41 percent of how people feel about a company is based on their perceptions of the firm’s corporate social responsibility practices.

I chose Disney as the company to respresent a well thought out corporate social responsibility corporation. They were offered and won the citizenship category for it. And about fifty percent of consumers specifically said that Disney is a good corporate civilian that supports good causes, much for the better good of society and the community around them, and protects the environment.

“Disney is not only one of the best known companies in the world, we constantly strive to be one of the most admired companies as well–earning the respect of our consumers, our employees and our shareholders for what we create and for how we do it,” Zenia Mucha, executive vice president and chief communications officer at The Walt Disney Company said. “We’re proud of our progress and of our place in this year’s ranking. We remain committed to being a good corporate citizen, from reducing our environmental impact and ensuring respectful workplaces to promoting the well-being of kids and families.”
